A Pictorial Post

Y’know how I fell off the grid earlier this summer?
For weeks on end?

Well… here’s what I was up to:

Watching paragliders in Colorado…

Backpacking in the Tetons…

Checkin’ out the wildlife…

Rafting the Snake…

Being blown over by the beauty…

Checkin’ out more wildlife…

Stopping by Mt. Rushmore…

Hiking in the Badlands…

Swimming in Wisconsin…

Climbing lighthouses in Michigan…

And just generally taking it all in.

As you might imagine, I’m all full-up…

Wow! That’s quite a journey you went on! I am sure you have stored up all sorts of wonderful moment that will spill forth into stories and poems. Lucky us.

Liz, I can’t believe you were at Mt Rushmore and the Badlands and checking out bison also! How did we miss each other? I owe you a report on the retreat to come.

    Tanita Says 🙂

    Ohhh, someday, someday, someday.
It’s kind of the vacation of one’s dreams.

That picture of you and Tall and Small One ought to be a poster. Girrrrrrl power!

I find it hard to get the balance between living the vacation and taking the pictures. I prefer to have someone else along who loves to operate a shutter and lens. Then I’m surprised by what’s been captured.

Hooray for being filled to the brim!

That’s actually them with their dad! Hard to tell when we’re all weighted down like mules 🙂

I am almost always the picture taker and I know what you mean about the balance. Sometimes I just have to put the camera away. But I’m always so happy to have the photos later when I DO take them. Y’know?

Wow, what a beautiful adventure. Those Grand Tetons are gorgeous (saw them once years ago). I’ve yet to see Mt. Rushmore. Maybe someday . . . thanks for sharing!

    love this post

I’d missed your return and have been catching up. But I so loved this post because of all that ISN’T captured in the photos –just knowing that in between you were having such a great adventure with your family. This year, we took our girls to Europe but perhaps next year, we ought to see more of our own country. You are an inspiration, as always.

Oh, and congratulations on the new book coming out!

      Re: love this post

Barb — YOU are inspiration, too. (And Mt. Rushmore doesn’t have anything on Lance!)

And yes, there’s a LOT that isn’t in these photos. I could go on and on and on!!!!
