National Poetry Month — Haiku 18

I composed yesterday’s haiku on an afternoon walk but failed to post it.
Here goes…

Haiku 18

peahen in the road
she squawks, the dog’s hackles rise
time to turn around

    I love your haiku

    And your correct use of Peahen as opposed to Peacock. Kenny and I were just talking about the collective peafowl the other day. I kid you not. It’s what keeps a marriage saucy.

      I know, totally!!!
      When I was a kid at our cottage in Wisconsin, there were some peacocks on the other side of the lake and I truly thought someone was drowning one night. All that shriekey clatter…
