One of the reasons I rarely post pictures on my blog is I don’t want to show the piles around my desk.
Lately, they’ve been epic.
Peaks worthy of pick axes and crampons.
Topo-maps gone missing.
But I am here to say that I’ve just completed all there is to do for one of two classes I taught this semester.
I’ve critiqued the manuscripts.
Written the editorial letters.
Submitted the grades.
And I’m pretty confident that I’ll be done with the second batch by Thursday.
How am I scaling the summits?
Working outdoors. (It is bright blue and 73 here today…)
A little Peter Tosh on the ipod dock.
Chocolate-and-toffee covered peanuts and a smoothie.
Bare feet.
And the familiar tug of a work-in-progress I really, really, really want to get back to.
What?
You work sitting up straight wearing sensible shoes and a glass of ice-water at your elbow?
Right now, my bare toes under my desk have nails painted a shocking shade called “Modern Girl.” I think they need to be taken outside to the deck. Thanks for the reminder.
You inspire us all!
To not only kick off our shoes and head outdoors but to scale one of the many peaks that rise at our elbows.
Thanks,
Bernadette
I do a lot of my best work in this pink-striped chair-and-a-half in my bedroom that gets morning sun. I sit there sideways with my laptop and my cats all wedged in wherever they can sleep. It’s very ergonomic.
Tanita Says 🙂
Today I am wearing a bow in my hair and sensible shoes and a matching cardigan. I’m doing a reading for myself, so these things are necessary.
Otherwise, it’s the fleece-lined slippers and a blanket, thank-you.
Um, sometimes I do work sitting up straight wearing sensible shoes with a glass of water at my elbow. I am geeky that way. But sometimes it’s a latte. And sometimes, I’m barefoot. And often, I’ve got my feet up.
Good work, you, on getting so much done!
