The Writing Life — All the World

Not to sweep yesterday’s post under the rug, but the beauty of my working life after these many years is that I can often find something with which to counter-balance the rough stuff.

I tend to have numerous pots in the fire at once so if something goes completely south I can usually shift my stance a bit and keep on cooking.

After a proper period of grim moroseness, naturally.

So, in case yesterday’s post felt like more than enough of that, thank you very much, today I’d like to share something that’s a little brighter.

This pretty thing is my next book, due out on shelves September 8th.
Rendered most lovingly by the extrordinary Marla Frazee.
All wrapped up and ready to go.

(This is where it gets fun…)

oh it is SOOO beautiful. I. CAN’T. WAIT.

I also admire your attitude. You bounce back so quickly and it is such a healthy attitude and a great example for your girls.

Oh, Susan, you are so sweet. There are times when the bounce-back is not quick and the days are dark, that’s for sure. It’s a crazy thing, spending so many waking hours a few hundred words at a time — many of them destined not to ever see the light of day. But I ‘spose that’s part of what makes moments like this especially sweet…

What a beautiful cover, Liz! I’m so glad it’ll be out soon and can’t wait to read it!

So makes up for the dratted Wind, which will rue the day it ever messed with you and delayed its arrival for all of us to enjoy. The day will come.

I am now wistful for summer, the ocean and All The World…

    Congrats!

OOOOh, pretty. Can’t WAIT. I have a collection of picture books that I display on my shelves that tend to be seasonal or about the wonder of the natural world, and this looks like a winner.

That’s such a great idea, Tanita! I do that will all our winter holiday/Christmas books, but I love the idea of rotating seasonal books…
